Cheyenne Trailriders - Ashland

We invite you to tour the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation in the same manner our ancestors' did - from the back of a horse. This unique business is owned and operated by Zane and Sandy Spang, both enrolled members of the Tribe and we welcome you to visit us.

Our reservation consists of approximately 444,000 acres that range from high, beautifully timbered elevations to prairies covered with wild flowers and sagebrush. Our ancestor's left evidence of their presence here in the tipi rings showing where they camped, and the sandstone etchings that tell stories of the past. As you ride you can share these views with the abundant wildlife that exists here on the reservation.

We teach you about our lives through workshops on the history, culture, and ethnobotany of our Tribe. We also feature entertainment such as a flute concert by the maker and player of the Northern Cheyenne Courting flute, Gourd dance instruction, storytelling, teach you to play the inter-tribal Hand Game, or you can experience a mini-powwow. For those who wish we can provide auto tours of the reservation.

Trail rides can be from an hour to three days in length. Our horses are well trained and novices are welcome. Wagon rides can also be arranged. Lodging is provided in our tipi's or at the local motel.

Please visit our website at: www.cheyennetrailriders.com and find the many components you can combine to design your own adventure with us. You can sign up on the site or call us at the number provided. We look forward to sharing our lives with you.
