The Teller - Corvallis

The Teller is a private, non-profit wildlife refuge that runs along nearly 4 miles of the Bitterroot River, one of Montana's premier trout rivers. The Refuge is comprised of 1,200 acres of farmland and river bottom dedicated to the conservation of western Montana's finest native riparian habitat. Whitetail deer, moose, red foxes, coyotes, porcupines, marmots, beaver, otter, muskrats and many smaller mammals enjoy a landscape managed for biodiversity. Three species of trout lurk in our waters, which include several spring creeks where guest hone their skills.

Ospreys, Canada Geese, Pileated Woodpeckers, a variety of waterfowl, pheasants, raptors, passerines and song birds call this home or migrate into a landscape responding favorably to practices designed to preserve and enhance their habitat.

Our guest services include 4 gracious and comfortable homes, several which date back to the 1860s but have been lovingly kept up over the years. Two homes are on the Main Refuge and two on the river south of the Refuge. The house is yours exclusively during your stay. Our whole effort is to make your stay as restful or productive as you require. All lodges offer complete accommodations, including well furnished kitchens for our guest to have a 'do-it-yourself' type vacation, or if you like, we can arrange for catering to suit your tastes.

Group rates are available. Our in house capacity is 1 to 26 and we network with several bed and breakfasts nearby for additional guests. Our conference room seats up to 40 or you can expand into the barn loft for gatherings of up to 200 people.

All homes are available for a minimum stay of 2 nights per week. Some homes are available only on a seasonal basis. Contact the Main Office for information and reservations, or go to www.tellerwildlife.org.
