Libby Nordicfest - Libby

Friday, September 09, 2011 - Sunday, September 11, 2011

The Libby community celebrates its Scandinavian Heritage every year on the second weekend in September. Libby Nordicfest is a gala affair featuring Scandinavian foods, a juried craft show, traditional folk costumes, free outdoor entertainment, a quilt show, concerts, music and arts. There are special events like the Grand Parade, Bunad Procession, International Fjord Horse Show, Kootenai Karacters Melodrama, Swedish Varpa (rock throw) and a youth Runnerfell.

The Scandinavian foods are featured at food booths on the grounds and at breakfasts and dinners put on by local organizations around the community. Bunads (traditional folk costumes) are worn by many people attending and locals. Our craft show is one of the best in the Northwest area. The Grand Parade features over 60 entries and has become one of the best parades in Montana. Nordicfest presents concerts for your enjoyment. Don't miss one of the top festivals in the Northwest.
