Montana State Golf Association - Helena

The Montana State Golf Association, founded in 1917, is a non-profit organization of member clubs, governed by amateur golfers, and dedicated to serving the game of golf in Montana. Nearly a century has come and gone yet this fundamental principle continues to guide us. The MSGA has grown to include 84 member clubs with 37,000 individual members. MSGA provides computerized handicapping, furnishes trained course rating teams upon request by member clubs, furnishes each member club an opportunity to participate in a statewide golf calendar distributed each Spring by May 1. Through membership in the International Association of Golf Administrators, the National Golf Foundation and USGA Associates Program, the member clubs are kept up to date on changing golf developments nationwide. MSGA serves as a watchdog in tax legislation that affects the member clubs. MSGA provides a State Junior Golf Coordinator. MSGA conducts state championship competitions including the State Amateur, Mid-Amateur, District Junior and State tournaments. MSGA also conducts the Montana Cup with the State PGA chapters and serves the golfing community in many other ways.
