Waterhole Saloon - Reed Point

The Waterhole Saloon is an authentic old Wild West Saloon complete with a watering trough and hitching posts. Known world wide, the Waterhole is featured in the recently published book, 'The Pub Crawler's Guide to Montana's Smaller Town Taverns.' The Waterhole's unique interior features rough wooden walls, log beams, antiques and thousands of dollars worth of coins driven into the beams. It also boasts a large license plate collection and a back bar hand built of many kinds of wood, including fence posts.

We are located one hour away from Yellowstone Park. There are plenty of recreational opportunities such as fishing, hunting, rock hounding, hiking and river floating, as the Yellowstone River is only a half-mile away. Every Labor Day weekend, Reedpoint hosts The Great Montana Sheep Drive, which swells the normal population of 100 to 12,000 or more.

The Waterhole is an information source for 'Lewis and Clark in the Yellowstone.' Clark and some of his men were at the Indian Fort in July of 1806, which is located close to Reedpoint.

The Waterhole serves the coldest beer and the best pizza in the state. The Waterhole, also has a great menu featuring Chester-fried chicken, burgers, steaks, and shrimp as well as buffalo steaks, burgers and ribs. The Waterhole Saloon has been owned and operated by Chris, Diana & Caryn Hahn since 1975. The Waterhole belongs to the Carbon-Stillwater Tavern Association and the Montana Tavern Association.
