Montana Barbecue Cook-Off - Absarokee

Absarokee Montana's annual Montana BBQ Cook-Off is being held on main street. This fun family event is growing from a BBQ competition and microbrew tasting to include a day of free musical entertainment. Bands will be playing music from start to finish. This year's line up will feature a wide range of music, bluegrass, country, rock from Montana's finest bands. Music will begin at 11:30am, BBQ tasting will begin at noon.

Listen to music while sampling BBQ, microbrews and other treats from far and wide. Last year's competition had 32 entries competing for cash and prizes. It is still not too late to join the competition and prove your BBQ skills. The competition is open to businesses (a great way to promote), chefs, or humble backyard experts. It's a lot of fun and a great way to showcase your skills. We are expecting a purse around $5,000.00 for this year's event.

The event has grown every year, and is a good opportunity to try some new BBQ and other dishes. Absarokee closes down its main street for the event, providing a great place to cruise the downtown and visit. The BBQ and Absarokee compliment each other, creating a nice excuse to get out, enjoy some great food, microbrews, and all of the valley's outdoor activities.
